As you may know, I am slightly obsessed by hotel breakfasts, (see this post on Kerala for more details!), particularly breakfasts of the self-serve international buffet variety.
Last week, as Donald Trump might say, I hit the motherload. The Princess Yaiza in Lanzarote quite simply has the greatest breakfast selection on earth. What makes it so great? Well along with the usual fresh fruit, pastries, bacon and eggs etc, there were the Spanish specialities - churros, magdalenas, chorizo, cava and jamon iberico. Yes, that's self-serve, all-you-can-eat jamon and cava. Me gusta!
But Jamon Iberico, Cava and the rest are expensive ingredients. How does the hotel stop people from eating too much? Small plates? Waiters that swipe your cutlery after one serving?
No. By placing one of these in every hotel bedroom.
